I Love You Daughter

Hi!  Well we're in the home stretch to Christmas!  Hope everyone isn't too frazzled!  I know I am!  LOL!  Here is my project as Guest Designer at The Outlawz.  It is a wall hanging for my daughter.  When she was a little girl we would always say I love you in sign language.  Here is a pic of Shianne in pre school, oh how I wish we had digital back then!!  This is a picture of a picture!

And this was us last year at a soccer game.  The SVG is by Designs on Cloud 9
and I used the Make the Cut software and my Cricut to cut it.  I used pop dots
on the middle fingers and slightly inked the edges.

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy holiday!
Hugs,
Kathi

I love you Shi!!  :)

New Challenge Blog starting in January!!

Hi!!  As I mentioned yesterday Jackson's Digital Expressions will be ending on Dec. 31st.  Chana (creator of JDE) asked me to join her in a new endeavor and because I love working with such a talented lady, I agreed!  We have most of the JDE Design Team joining us and we'll have the same sponsors in 2013.  Here is the link to the new blog:

Now I am always quick to say that drawing is not my strength!  I say I'll build you something though!  LOL!  However, I drew this for the blog banner and I actually like it!  It's simple, country, whimsy but those are some of the styles I like.  I have very eclectic taste.  I colored it with chalks, Prismacolor pencils/Gamsol and acrylic paints.  Some highlights of Stickles too.

Here are the details of our first challenge and we hope you become a follower and join our "neighborhood".

Challenge #1 Anything Goes

start date is Sunday January 6, 2013

and our sponsor will be Bugaboo Stamps!

Winner will receive 7 images from Bugaboo

Hope to see you in January!  Until then have a happy and safe holiday season!  And don't forget to wear your seat belts!  :)

Hugs,
Kathi

A Million Thanks Shadowbox

Hi Everyone!  Busy, busy, busy!  I'm here today with my Guest Designer entry for the Outlawz Monday Greeting Card Challenge.  I must admit this was a labor of love let me tell you!  And I think it's different from my usual designs, I always admire others work like this but I finally made one myself..  And it's for someone very special too  :)

this view shows the dimension
close up of poem found at The Poetry Pad
Digi is from Teddy Bo and Co. called Teddy Bea #196

I've been playing with the handful of Copics that I have and I colored the bears solely with those.  I used chalks and Prismacolor pencils on the rest of the image.

So here is the completed shadowbox. The paper is 8x8 and I purchased an 8x8 shadowbox for it but, did it fit?  Nooo...of course not!  So I had to cut and hot glue cardboard, etc, etc.  And boy is it hard to take a good pic of it!

DETAILS:
papers - My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper stacks
dies - MFT (bow/fishtail flag/mini scalloped edging border), Spellbinders circle and Memory Box (La Rue Heart and Honeysuckle Vine)

Well thanks for taking time out of your busy day to stop and take a peek!
Hugs,
Kathi

Take me to you freezer!

Hi!  Today I have another project as Guest Designer at The Outlawz Challenge Blog.  The challenge is to use animal prints or make an animal the focal point of your design.  I was going to make something with an old dolphin stamp I have and I wish I had.  I used pink zebra on this snowman from Whimsie Doodles.  You know when you make something and you're just not happy with it?  It just didn't turn out the way you wanted it to?  And at midnight you don't have enough time to start another project?  LOL!  Yeah that's this one for me  :)   Not to mention the pics/lighting do not do it any justice.

Details:  I paper pieced the hat/scarf/mittens/straw, colored with Copics/Prismacolor pencils/chalks I colored the snowman with my pearl chalks, Stardust Stickles on the cup/snowflake, Icicle Stickles on the hat, etc, snowflake die/fishtail flags by MFT, rounded squares by Lifestyle Crafts, banner is an SVG from Designs on Cloud 9.

Thanks for stopping by!

Guest Designer at The Outlawz!

Hi Everyone!

I was asked to be a Guest Designer for December at The Outlawz - Monday Challenge.
I can't even tell you how flattered I was!  So after much worry and anxiety here's what I can up with for the challenge:  The Eyes Have It!  Incorporate "Eyelets" in your design or use an image in which the eyes are the Focal Point.  I wasn't sure which version I liked better so I gave the coordinator both and she chose this first version.

                                                           second version
                                                                 close up
I used Glossy Accents on her eye and lips

Here is the original digi I used from Saturated Canary called Books and Bedhead.  I really liked the one eye showing.  I love her digi's they're so cute!
I colored her with Copics on the face and chalks and Prismacolor pencils for the rest of the image.  Dies: rounded squares by Lifestyle Crafts (formerly QuicKutz) there are 18 nested dies in one set! Great deal 1/2 price at JoAnns = $12.50!!  Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares.  Papers by My Mind's Eye and ribbon/gem/metal brad from stash.

If you like challenge blogs then head over to The Outlawz they have challenges every day of the week with awesome prizes too!  Not to mention what a great group of people who are always so sweet!!  Thanks for having me Outlawz!!

Hugs!
Kathi
